Chris Olson - Lead Guitar and Backing Vocals
Hailing from Marion, Ohio, Chris Olson is a veteran guitarist with considerable roots-rock and rockabilly experience. He joined up with Jimmy Razor through a friendly meeting at Spoonful Records last summer.
Like Jimi Hendrix, Paul McCartney, and Slim Whitman before him, Chris is a left-handed guitarist. Even though his guitar neck faces the opposite direction, his dexterity on the axe is impeccable, bringing a James Burton twang and a Lovin' Spoonful jangle to the band.
An avid vinyl record collector, he brings a broad knowledge of rock 'n' roll history to the band. Contrary to stereotypes, he is not a rock snob: he is a rock 'n' roll snob.
Not only is Chris Olson a fine guitarist and overall nice guy, but he shares the same October 23 birthday with Jimmy Razor.
Unless specified as a solo gig, you can catch Chris pickin' and grinnin' at most Jimmy Razor shows.
John Colarossi - Electric Bass
Bassist John Colarossi is a first generation punk rocker with a love of rockabilly. During the new wave years of 1979 to '82, John was a disc jockey for a cable radio station and used his position to spread the good word about this edgy underdog music. Learning the electric bass later in life, Colarossi played in punkabilly bands, honing his four-string chops as a prelude to joining up with Jimmy Razor.
Although John plays an electric bass guitar rather than an acoustic stand-up version, his imaginitive playing takes the band out of nostalgic cliches and into a somewhat more fresh take on roots-rock.
In his spare time, he loves cooking, especially making dishes reflecting his proud Italian heritage. He lives with his wife, Mary Kay, and five Shih Tzus, better known as the "20-legged alarm clock." He is a welcome addition to our roots-rock family.
Unless specified as a solo date, you can catch John thumping his four-string at most Jimmy Razor shows.
Ed Hinton - Drums and Percussion
Rockabilly is definitely rooted in big band and early jazz, so it is appropriate that veteran drummer Ed Hinton brings his love of these sounds to the group. Experienced in Dixieland, swing, and blues, Ed adds just the right jazzy touch to our rhythm section. His dynamic playing runs the gamut from quiet snare and brushes to an all-out Gene Krupa-styled attack. He is a welcome addition to the Jimmy Razor family of musicians.
